Philosophy

We’re a playground studio — and that matters.

Founded by Zee and Rehan Durrani Heavy Mask was born to solve one problem. How do we scale engineering alongside AI while keeping human ingenuity, creativity and control at the helm of the process.   

Our hybrid approach to product building gives founders and visionaries the control they need without missing out on the speed of AI and the grounded nature of data and metrics needed to push any organisation forward.

While data and metrics are where Heavy Mask lives it’s not where inventiveness thrives. Sandboxes and boundaries are great for early productivity but true innovation must encourage structure breaking so that participants can cross existing boundaries unhindered (and without fear).

As a playground studio we connect deeply with the raw values of creating through play (sometimes referred to as exploring for the sake of exploring). Why? because curiosity matters when it comes to growth.

Zee Durrani

Designer

An engineer, designer and artist Zee's been building (and breaking things) since early childhood. He studied Computer Science at UCL before beginning his career at investment banking firm Morgan Stanley. Not for him he quickly transitioned to more creative pastures. He lives design, is always coming up with theories and likes to relax with his cats.

Nabeel Ali

Engineer

Nabeel joined fresh out of university completing his Computer Science degree at the University of Hertfordshire. A true tinkerer he's a power house when it comes to code, products (and anything that beeps). He spends his weekends with friends, his car and working out at the gym.

Rehan Durrani

Business Development

Rehan a chartered accountant with over 15 years of experience navigating the complexities of business and HMRC is a co-founder and business development partner at the firm. A true people person who's whit and charm will always get you. He's loves dogs (but doesn't have one yet), cars, family and movies.
